Seasonal Grounds Employee – Job Description

Position Summary
Mill Creek Community Schools is seeking seasonal grounds employees to assist with maintaining school facilities and grounds during the summer months. This temporary position supports the grounds, maintenance, and custodial teams with a variety of outdoor and physical tasks to help prepare buildings and grounds for the upcoming school year.

Compensation and Schedule

• Pay Rate: $15.91 per hour
• Schedule: 8 hours per day for June 1, 2026 through July 31, 2026

 

• Hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

 

• This is a temporary/seasonal position and is not eligible for paid holidays, including July 4.
  
  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Seasonal grounds employees may assist with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Mowing and trimming grass
• Weed eating and general landscaping work
• Spreading mulch and maintaining planting beds
• Pulling weeds and general grounds upkeep
• Painting and basic facility improvement projects
• Moving furniture and equipment
• Cleaning and preparing classrooms or common spaces
• Assisting maintenance and custodial staff as needed
• Supporting general building and grounds preparation for the upcoming school year
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat and humidity
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform manual labor for extended periods of time
