Job Posting: Adjunct Faculty – Politics and Economics
2026–2027 Academic School Year
Cascade High School is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member in Politics and Economics for the 2026–2027 academic school year. This position is hired each semester on an as-needed basis and will work in partnership with Ivy Tech Community College to provide students with high-quality dual credit instruction.
General Purpose of the Position
The Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for creating a learning environment that supports student success and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
Major Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Deliver assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives
- Use available technology to enhance instruction
- Supplement and adapt lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials as appropriate
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation
- Engage students in meaningful and productive ways that positively impact learning
- Demonstrate effective teaching strategies, including strategies that support online learners
- Interact professionally and cooperatively with students, co-workers, and administration
- Maintain a safe, high-quality educational environment
- Promote an inclusive environment that reflects the diverse backgrounds of students and staff and ensures all individuals feel respected and valued

Supervision
This position is supervised by Cascade High School Administration and the Ivy Tech Community College Program Chair.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate must meet the educational requirements for the Politics and Economics discipline through one of the following routes:
- Possess an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in Politics and Economics, or
- Possess an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in any field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Politics and Economics-related coursework, including coursework in statistics and/or research methodology
Candidates must also meet Ivy Tech Community College’s approval requirements to give college credit.
Salary
Starting salary: $3,400 per class taught
With 2 Political Science courses in first semester and 2 Economics courses in second semester, total compensation is $13,600.
